IMM COLOGNE
IMM COLOGNE
Connecting Communities
- 18. Januar 2024 in Köln statt.
The "imm - International Möbelmesse“ an international furniture fair took place for the 41st time this year from the 14th to the 18th of January 2024 in Cologne. This year, the trade fair was held under the motto "Connecting Communities".
The "imm cologne" is a firm fixture in the event calendar of many planners, interior designers, interior decorators, specialist planners and many creative companies in the furniture and design industry. It takes place every year in January (except for the covid years) at the Cologne Exhibition Centre and heralds the start of the interior design year. New trends are shown at the trade fair, many companies present their new products and the fair has a clear focus on business, inspiration and networking in the international interior world.
We took this as an opportunity to travel to Cologne to find inspiration for our future work and to familiarise ourselves with new products and trends.
Under the title "Connecting Circles", several focus points were set up in all exhibition halls. These focused on different topics and were all about exchanging ideas, connecting and interacting.
There were circles that were used as meeting points, small coffee shops, areas for presentations and exciting panel discussions, as well as circles that placed a special focus on the circular economy in the furniture industry. For many exhibitors, the theme of circles and organic, rounded shapes runs through the programme and is very present this year.
Another focus for the various manufacturers was the circular economy and recyclable materials. The furniture manufacturer "Rolf Benz" presented a new sofa that can be completely dismantled into its individual parts and materials. Each material is separated from one another and can therefore be completely returned to the material cycle.
The company "Team 7" has also launched an upholstered armchair made entirely from renewable raw materials and many other manufacturers have taken this topic to heart. It is exciting to see what is possible and that we as humans should place more emphasis on sustainability and longevity, especially in the furniture industry.
All in all, it was an exciting and interesting day and we look forward to new exciting projects, perhaps together with you in the future!
